“Summa Time”

Summer summer summertime
Time to sit back and unwind

Here it is the groove slightly transformed
Just a bit of a break from the norm
Just a little somethin’ to break the monotony
Of all that hardcore dance that has gotten to be
A little bit out of control it’s cool to dance

As the lyrics to Will Smith “Summertime” play in the background,

Can you smell it in the air? I’m thinking of family, cookouts, seafood, and Barbeque. You probably got on a new outfit and or a cute Bathing suit. It’s the 4th of July and despite your beliefs it’s nothing wrong with having a good time. Besides the fact that it seems like we just celebrated a new year last week that time is hear.  Good vibes, and loud explosions in the air get with your crew and have a ball. As tradition has it its popular to have intimate gatherings to celebrate the day that has been called independence day. We’ve reached the middle of the year, Yayy. Time to lock and load, get ready to take out those end of the year goals. So play some good music, cook some good food, get with your girls or your boys, reconnect with the family, spend your day watching T.V, or in solitude with the dog at the lake. Whatever you do, have a Ball. But once it’s all said and done, Take a look at the below tips to help get those personal goals back on track.

Determine if you are halfway to your goal target? If you’re not halfway to your target figure out if there is a legitimate reason, and analyze weather you believe you’ll catch up in the second half. There could be a good reason why you’re behind, but if not, your lack of progress should raise a red flag. Fix it!

Determine if your goal is still compelling? It happens your life may have changed since you set your initial goal, the goal may no longer be compelling. You got this!

What do you need to do to get back or stay on track? If your goal is still meaningful to you and you have just veered off track, what action steps can you take to course correct? Is time, or Low-return or no-results and issue?  Take an honest assessment of what you’ve tried to reach your goal so far to make sure you’ve taken steps that at least show some promise. Stop playing!

What support do you need to get back or stay on track? If you’re not sure you’re using the right strategies to reach your goal, you may need specific help, while the rest of your strategy should stay as is. Finish them!!

What will you do from here? The best mid-year reviews result in actionable next steps. Now that you know whether or not you’re on track and whether or not the goal is still meaningful and significant, Pull out your contacts and calendar, and commit to a plan and timeline for the rest of the year. It’s coming!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Indigo

June 28′ 2019

I was still pretty much still singing, “Heart Break on a full Moon” And Friday June 28th dropped Chris Browns newest album entitled. Now with the name Chris Brown I pretty much expected all that I came for.

“Indigo”

serves as the title of Chris Browns 9th studio album. This also makes the artist second double album following ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’ which released October 2017.

As one of the youngest artist to earn all his Masters, Brown released “Indigo” a 32 song album as a tribute to his 30th birthday. The front cover album artwork features an animated Chris Brown with purple hair surrounded by monsters and flying saucers. The album portrays somewhat of a more mature sound with a variety of music styles.

Brown opens the album with the song titled “Indigo” where he intertwines being woke with a sexual connotation. “Pussy fire it’s a vibe”, Good Vibes are a set standard these days right?

With a two hour runtime Brown shifts abruptly between tracks about sexual confidence and self-improvement. Where he is eager to share the lessons he’s learned about life and love on songs like “Back to Love”, and “All on Me”. Continual lyrics like “All these wrongs that I’ve done, I’m just tryna make it right”. The album talks a lot about energy, vibrations and love. It also features songs with live instruments that compliments the lyrics and sound for example “Red” song 6 on the album.

In tribute to this album Chris will go on tour In August touching down in Portland first on the IndiGOAT U.S. tour. It was initially rumored to headline Breezy and Nicki Minaj, however has now been confirmed that Chris will appear alongside Ty Dolla Sign, Joyner Lucas and Tori Lanez. The tour will include stops in New Orleans. B.K, and Houston before ending Oct 19. My favorites on the Album include songs “All I want” featuring Tyga which is a sample from DMX’s 97’ song “How it’s going down”. Red, No Guidance feat Drake, just to name a few but many more.

Rhythm and a Boo

When you hear r&b, what comes to mind? For me it triggers memories, thoughts of love, breakups, dancing, images from old school music videos, convertible popped rides, soothing words and bubble baths, long kisses in front of the projects (lol think 90’s videos, No I know I’m not from the projects). I mean I could literally go on and on. It’s not just R&B honestly all types of music will trigger some kind of emotion and most likely a memory.

Let’s talk about modern day dating. For me it’s normally hit or miss. No literally, listen if he fine fine, he got some shit with him run sis. When he’s undeniably a sweetheart he tries to smother you (Major peeve let me be) I said run. The one you kinda into, offer’s no consistency and or other important traits but seems to expect it damn he got you, I told yo ass to run. I’m speaking from the experience over the last year or so, not dating all these personalities at once. Although if I was, I wouldn’t be wrong another conversation for another day.

But what ever happened to R&B love or (love song chivalry)? Where the man actually pursues you and shows his interest or how much he really like you? The kind where he’s been watching you but was nervous to attempt to pursue you because he was just that into you. It’s like there were no upfront questions to be asked, because he had studied you before he even approached you. He wanted to make sure he was really attracted to you and your mannerisms before he even took that step with you. Then he brainstormed and thought about how to best approach you. They were so optimistic in getting a girl, she was his even before she was his. That’s important in any dynamic of wanting something just for you. Loyd even prayed Player prayers, and included God in the pursuit of his woman. These days they question god. Instead of asking, then looking to find it in that Woman. When Jay Z made a Song Cry, we saw the type of man (personality wise) didn’t even matter. Even the hard core dope boys showed they could relate and played those songs high with all the windows down LOUD. They loved us hard, so hard they was ready to defend and be loyal to somebody they just met and just simply wanted to get to know. Then comes r&b rap where LL Cool J and Boyz II Men rang out to admirer’s all over singing Hey Lover. (that’s low key a fave) However old school love songs was made for everyone to listen and relate to. #BRINGITBACK It made commitment, trust, loyalty, chivalry, and being solid look practical and fun. I won’t go too far and say be faithful but Jagged Edge had men singing Let’s Get Married and dancing to the alter. UGK even had his boys and the barber right behind him looking like a lynch mob, singing International players anthem (I choose you Baby). Then you know its real cause even his partners know how he feel. DISCLAIMER THIS IN NO WAY APPLIES TO ALL MEN.

I know some of you are still out there but I bet the ladies will agree that it’s slim, I mean real slim. Some of them gone say to none but I believe better. On all the old school love stories, and hardcore drama movies you definitely gone hear a good r&b song spewing in the background. Color Me Badd was tryna sex somebody up in New Jack City. Try me, just go see. I mean they convinced you to give them a chance with a simple song, and sometimes a well thought out gift to compliment the gesture. Pride was never an option, that man fell to his knees and got his ass right back up to try again if necessary, sometimes with the same girl. Even the break up songs ended up with the love interest falling in love with someone else. Someone better than he/she had before. Carl Thomas had me somewhat confused with I wish, but he got it together cause shortly after he was out dancing in Summer Rain. Listeners immediately considered trying it again with someone else (F that). These days it’s like, I’ll never do that shit again (*side eye*lol). I say all this to say, ladies if you’re like me… Single, and mingling, looking to eventually stumble into your life partner. Let’s try a new approach and don’t entertain unless their tryna Love you like R&B. Hopefully I’ve restored some faith in a few of you. Now go on, Go listen to some jodeci, or better yet head over to Apple music and check out the latest #SpreadLoveGoodMusic playlist entitled “Music is my love language”.

What is your favorite 90’s song?

Welcome to

I don’t know if music can change the world over night but I know that music can help someone make it through a difficult night.

Hahahaha, I know you’re probably like now she got a blog! Ah yea. I pretty much got a lot to say and y’all gone get these words through this expression. This time around I’m doing something different. The plan is to build my life around my passion, and I’m looking for anything that simultaneously challenges me, intrigues me and motivates me at the same time, and I invite you to join me on this mission. Meaning if you rolling with me, I mean really rolling with me, then get used to the effects of my passion because we’ve only just begun. #SpreadLoveGoodMusic.

How do I plan to keep you engaged you asked? Well I know you like music. I mean who don’t and the 1% of you who don’t has to like Story lines and Drama (we got that too). However we’ll use music to trigger emotions to help you feel me. Like as I type I am listening to “One Missed Call” by PJ, and How I feel is I’m done playing. There are no stipulations to that, I’m done. It’ll be like therapy to you and me cause baby I have battles too. Just read it out a few times you’ll see, I’m sure you can relate in some way. Participate with me in open (live) discussions. Let’s connect, bond, and build with each other over good music. #SpreadLoveGoodMusic I must warn you tho, cause it’s gone get personal. It’s kinda like a Book club but for music ya know. I mean with the right words you can apply your feelings to anything that is of importance or affecting you. Hell I care how you feel too, your solutions might help, prevent my chaos. Or even be just pretty entertaining. So sit back, lets relax, play a few tunes, and take it back. You follow me?

Who?

You the one girl, You the one girl, You the one girl, You the one, Put ya finger in the air if you the one girl, Put ya finger in the air if you the one”. Cee Lo

Me, Well I am Megan Tenea, SC native current NC resident. Firm believer in God, Karma, Love, and my kid. My most important job is being a single parent to an Icon that I’ve named Sir Khiland.

Why do this?

  • I’m building my life around my passion
  • I’m looking for anything that simultaneously challenges me, intrigues me and motivates me at the same time, and I invite you to join me on this mission.

I could pretty much stop here but that wouldn’t be fair to all the work I’ve already put in. I am a Content Creator, throughout my career I’ve put together promo tours, been PR, been on the TV, and the radio. Done multiple Podcast, Had a YouTube channel with several artist interviews. I’ve worked with several independent and celebrity artists in the past. That pretty much sums it up, or at least all that I care to tell at this time.
