From the album Port of Miami 2, Rick Ross featuring Summer Walker
Ross, or Rozay ⼠for my ladies, has done it again. (King of Convertible/yacht music). For me it started with the phrase âEvery super woman needs a superman, here I amâ. But Summer Reign has quickly become one of my favorite love songs out right now. It features the talented Summer Walker, and has come in right on time for Cuffing Season. The song starts off with the following lyrics;
All I ask is that you hold it down for me
‘Cause
you told me you would be my everything
If
it’s love, then baby, put it on me (I got it, uh)
We
could hustle this together, you and me
‘Cause
I told you I could be your everything (yes)
If
it’s love, then baby, put it on me, yeah, yeah
To start it sounds like a perfect date night with the top down (Yâall know I love convertible rides) of course an ideal location would be Miami with ya boo or potential new boo. Itâs a Sample of SWVs 1997 release Rain, but starts off with its own tone, little more dramatic than the original. You can barely tell itâs about to fade into a sample. Music is led in by piano or keyboard chord, and Summer Walkers voice is perfect for the tone they are working to set. Together the sound has great chemistry. It presents a consistent melody it wasnât sped up or slowed down, pretty much spot on from the original. Artistically He gets double points for the appeal that comes along with his persona and that belly of courseâŚ.. My personal opinion when the lyrics not all mushy and still projects affection and the artist overall personality it makes it sexier and pretty practical. We want what we want, and I will admit I got a thing for this type of music.
Song helped me decide that Iâm in love, I donât know with who yet. But Iâm in love. Just in case you reading this, Itâs kind of like my favorite song out right now so if you tryna date me in any way you could win points with some roses, a romantic dinner date, convertible ride, with this song playing, you can even put it on repeat if it makes you easier for you (lol).
I just like it, as I mentioned above itâs just in time for Cuffing Season.
And Tis the season to be cuffed! Iâm here for it.
Just when we thought Summer was coming to an end, Summer Walker is actually just beginning. Everything sheâs said so far Iâm sure you or someone you know can relate to.
At a time where itâs extremely convenient to be unintentional. Summer is asking all the necessary questions and addressing all the things that most wonât.
Ladies and gents if you not asking these questions, hats off to you and yours. HoweverâŚâŚ. I need to know.
The song begins with an acoustic melody, and her voice is a perfect soft but raspy combination when necessary. The lyrics are perfectly on point, she starts by saying âWhip, bought it. Crib, got it. Job, on it.â Basically to communicate clearly that she does not have a need for those things. Then goes into expressing she never asked for the things that sheâs been given. Although all appealing but material things she expresses that her desires go beneath the surface.
I dig it! Itâs very necessary and extremely relevant in current times. I love the song, not only because itâs easy to relate. But it has a great melody and she has the perfect sound and pitch. Its perfect Bath time music, ahhh I love hot bubble baths âş.
Listen here
The tempo picks up throughout the song sure to slow down so that we can clearly hear her enunciate her words when needed, Then back up dramatically throughout the Corus. Itâs a very clean production! Good song to relax to, and Iâd love to see her Pole work to this one!
Iâm here for it, all of it and looking forward to more music from this artist. Be on the lookout for the âForever Summerâ Playlist dropping from #SpreadLoveGoodMusic.
This marks the year of the official launch of the #BlackMenDonâtCheat (movement) I guess you would call it. First to clarify itâs been defined as (urban dictionary â The factual understanding amongst most intellectual people that those of black ethnicity and male gender do not cheat on their partners. The only thing they may do is slip up from time to time.
To explain more âCharlamagne Tha Godâ went further in depth
to share his thoughts on infidelity and the movement. He clarified that the originator
of the phrase is comedian Carlos Miller, and itâs a statement to black men not
to cheat and to change the narrative. Uncle Char was also sure to add âEver since I really, really started being
faithful, my skin got clearer, my credit score jumped upâŚitâs just all about
creating an emotionally, mentally and spiritually, healthy lifestyle.â
He also talked about the effects of cheating with the following âI believes any
man who can resist his sexual urges is a focused man and explained how
detrimental infidelity is on the mental health of the black women affected by
it. And of course, vice versus. âJust donât cheat!â
As we all are aware infidelity is not really Taboo in the African American community, but its clichĂŠâ. Because not only all black men cheat. I believe itâs a new attempt to re-invent the image of the misunderstood black male. This would make for a great open discussion. First letâs take the time to review the following
The infamous Jodi and Yvette (Baby Boy)
What is Monogamy â The practice or state of being married to one person at a time or the practice or state of having a sexual relationship with only one partner at a time.
Are humans made or meant to be monogamous? Most of the science world believes that we should be a part of a large animal eco-system. However Iâm no animal so I believe we should use Human intelligence and act like HUMANS, a thought above an animal.
Statistics show that 54 percent of Americans know someone who has had an unfaithful spouse. However in 1991 Shere Hite found that 70% of married women have cheated on their partners, and 72% of married men has as well.
So do all black men cheat? NO although based on statistics a vast majority of (MEN) and WOMEN too will always have a problem with Monogamy. Hence why it is important to be selfish in your pursuit to BLISS. In the meantime leave that Womanâs Man alone.
Baby BOY Please! Hahahahhaa this is seriously hilarious. At first I thought it was a joke, but apparently theyâre supposed to be for real. Lil Duval, and âUncle Charâ (Charlemagne) has come with a message for all you ladies out there tryna still someoneâs Black ManâŚâŚ BLACK MEN DONâT CHEAT.
The overall production and sound quality is a good sound.
The lyrics well they rhyme but sounds like a complete joke. Lol I really donât know
what more to say, other than Lol I am not convinced. Not convinced at all. The
message is a good message, and I am sure for some the message that they are
attempting to relay is important but this does nothing for me. Just for shits
and giggles I think the 85 south show crew should do a remix.
Singer-Songwriter Olurotimi Akinosho better known by his stage name, Rotimi, is a singer-songwriter, actor and model.
Not only is he a rising star on the big screens, He is art. The very attractive, talented Nigerian-American model actor and singer released his 4th studio album entitled Walk with Me.
The 7 song and 23 minute album is short but sweet. My intention was to only review the current radio single âLove Riddimâ but after listening to the entire albumâŚâŚ. I realized I was on the losing end. Itâs like a good mix of R&B and reggae island music and man does it get his point across.
âWalk With Meâ is the latest project released in 2019 by actor-singer Rotimi.
Like we always say music is therapy and in most cases it
tells a story. After listening to his album, heâs definitely a lover. A few of my
favorites on the album is pretty much the first 3 songs, Legends, Decisions,
and Love Riddim.
Love Riddim – is currently on the radio, and is a hit. Kinda like this, itâs 2006 we in a small club off some main drag or major highway in the city. Itâs the end of the night and we bout 3 shots and 4 drinks in. The DJ jump on the mic to say this the last song of the night so you need to find whoever you came in there with, or whoever you leaving with cause this your last dance. Now in 2006 that song was Foxy Brown âTonightâ. However in reality its 2019 Love Riddim is one of those end of the night songs. Not too fast, not to slow but good enough to get that 2006 end of the night vibe. I can actually imagine the whole club rocking to it in unison and just because the vibe is such a strong one he got to put on 1 more song which would have to be âTonightâ. Nights out just donât happen like that no more, but yea itâs one of those songs.
Rotimi serves up a new Afro Fusion tune titled âLove Riddimâ. The Nigerian-American star and Power series actor recently signed a partnership deal with Empire distribution, after departing 50 Centâs G-Unit Records. As a result, Rotimi drops the new joint to mark the joint-deal.
Overall I like it, its sexy, and has a strong universal appeal to it which essentially is what you should want. The more that can relate or enjoy the product, the larger the fan base. The song even has a dope visual take a look at the official video below.
A sample of the late 90âs famous Badd Boy hit âWhat you wantâ
by Mase feating Total from the Harlem world Album.
Mase
Total
Of course when the song comes on you kinda already expect it
to be a hit, because sampled by the talented Teyona Taylor and King Combs the
talented son of original song writer Sean âDiddyâ Combs.
The pair makes a talented âDuoâ and the artwork pretty much says it all before the song comes on. Both artist are explicit with their lyrics, being sure to let us know that they are not kids.
Itâs a song that explains Teyana sexual expertise and she makes several references to what she will, can, and, want to do. Her biggest question is âWhatâs the quickest way to turn you onâ? Based on what the artist is saying in the song, there will most likely be NO DULL moments with this interaction.
Now letâs talk about KINGâŚ. Pretty much a physical protĂŠgĂŠ of
his Dad, look and sound just like this man. Itâs like Diddy2.0, with so much
musical success thatâs gotta literally be some hard shoes to fill. Itâs working
tho. How old is this Man again, cause he said âYea Iâm young but Iâm old enough,
Iâm stand in the pussy have you folding upâ. Christian what did you say?? Lol Heâs making a
grand entrance into entertainment taking a stance like a symbol. Heâs a lover
boy, and Iâm learning to take him serious too, because the media has never
displayed the playful side of him. Heâs been groomed that way, but I like itâŚ.
The sample instrumental flows throughout the entire song just speeding the tempo up just a little. Teyana starts off with the same words as the original repeating âTell me what you wantâ multiple times before the lyrics began. All the way down to Kings rhyming style and accent, and Teyanaâs rendition of Totals tone. Iâm here for it because it doesnât divert far from the original.
Check out the video directed by Teyana, a retro video that pays tribute to very talented director Hype Williams.
The song is sexy, and we all know Iâm all for something Grown and sexy that I can sing and dance too. The song shows their maturity and its a different lane compared to the music that out these days. With it being a sample you might not even mind the kids singing itâŚâŚâŚâŚ I lied itâs not those kind of lyrics. Yea you might not even want ya teenage daughters listening to it with all this appeal King putting down. Overall I like it, I really do. Iâd actually like to see a few more songs come from the two because they make a good collaboration. You can hear this song and more on the PLAYLIST dropping today entitled âOde to the 90sâ. With only a few more weeks left in #HotGirlSummer, Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign have teamed up to bring us the official #HotGirlSummer track. Those of you who follow the blogs should know a couple of weeks ago (approximatelyJuly 27th) Megan and Nicki linked up over Instagram live for a bonding moment. Where Megan PROCLAIMED Nicki to be the greatest of all time {GOAT}. It started off with Thee Stallion praising Nicki on live saying she has always been a Nicki fan. âWe are gagging right now. We are gassed! Nicki Bitch! We love you! Said Meganâ. âSince mother fucking 2008 and I was in the 8th grade and I could listen to rap music on my own!â From that point in the convo it was pretty much all a dream. The live begin to flow into a cozy home girl type convo where they talk about everything from how they relate, their future goals to, education. It then returned to paying homage again to Nikki reciting her earlier song lyrics to âFreaky Girl, and Slumber partyâ. Megan said âStop playing with her! Stop playing with Nicki Minaj like she ainât the mother fucking goat.â After more conversation on unity and sisterhood the two women mentioned the possible coming of a #HotGirlSummer anthem. Although Nicki is tied down with new boo Kenneth âZooâ Petty, They both agreed that girls can still have a hot girl summer with their man too.
Here we are, almost a month later living our best hot girl life, then comes the collab weâve been waiting forâŚâŚ which begins with the famous âCity Girls sample line Real ass bitch give a fuck about a niggaâ. Then a nice summertime steady paced beat drops yet another summer banger (if itâs the beat you go for). First off letâs describe what being a hot girl means based on the stallionâs terms,
HotGirl â being unapologetically you. Having a good ass
time, hyping up your friends and doing you, not giving a damn about what nobody
has to say about it. You definitely have to be a person who can be the life of
the party and a bad bishhh, the definition from Megan herself. So enjoying
yourself and not caring is the key! So what makes a #hotgirl summer? Your
attitude and your vibe this season, a summer for women to do what they want.
Megan kept her normal tune in the song with lyrics like âHandle
me? Who gonâ handle me? Thinking heâs a player, he a player on the team.
Fucking 9-5 niggas with that superstar D, Donât tell âem you with me when they
be askin where you atâ. Nickiâs lyrics
were somewhat disappointing however. Not the normal explicit (Freaky Girl) Nicki
she spoke more from emotion speaking on the conversation they had that day on
the live.
I like the idea of the song being empowering and still promoting the objective but I expected more. Itâs a start I guess.
Sheâs Unstoppable
Especially when she realized that she can be all the things that you told her not to be!
Its summer 2019 and women have been able to prove that they
can do what we want when we want. Weâre lit thatâs really it. The feminist
movement (also known as the womenâs liberation movement, the womenâs movement,
or just plain feminism) refers to a series of political campaigns for reform
issues including domestic violence, equal pay, reproductive rights, sexual harassment,
and sexual violence just to name a few. The objective is to allow women to have
freedom equal opportunity and control over their own lives. Itâs been something
that women have been fighting for since the 19th and early 20th
century. At that time it focused more on legal issues and primarily the right
to vote. Today the moral focus is based on economic, social, political equality
of the sexes. The belief weighs primarily in the desire for equality between
the sexes.
With the belief that we are on the 4th wave, we
have begun to take back whatâs due.
It’s 2019 she kicking ass and taking names, with women like Megan Thee Stallion proclaiming it a hot girl summer and got women like LaLa Anthony driving the boat. City Girls taking the 2livecrew approach and getting what they want period. Lizzo addressing what we always wanted to know why men are great until they gotta be great. We got Koryn Hawthorne making sure we all know that sheâs unstoppable, and Ari Lennox and Summer Walker decided to let us all know that itâs nothing wrong with telling him to break you off because shit girls need love too. Feminine confidence is at an all-time high. There is women in politics like Kamala Harris who didnât come to play, and our First lady Michele Obama giving us instructions on how to simply âBeâ. Time is really winding down but I think weâre finally getting the picture. We as women are beginning to link together in support of one another which I think we are finally starting to do. Artistically, musically, athletically, politically, economically at this moment we making shit happen.
Although its not a summer favorite, I believe it made a good attempt. Looking forward to more collaborations in the future.
Anybody game for a remix? If so who would you put on it?
Before embracing being “Single Again”, was Triggered. Itâs nothing like a good old nasty breakup. Both parties confused and donât know what to do. Going through withdrawals and feeling every emotion possible. âI thought this was what I wantedâ, âIt is what I wantâ, or âWe can just remain friendsâ. Then you really start to think about the time you spent, things you did, and evaluate the adjustments you gotta immediately make to ensure you donât have any moments of despair. Moments where youâre instantly reminded of the person youâre trying to get over.
Initially youâre okay cause like Usher said âYou donât have to callâ. You go gather up your girls/boys and hit the club or the kick back and get a few numbers to engage in rebound activity. Or you take the high road and remember who TF you are. You find a hobby, start working out, or engage in some extracurricular activity to distract you that is until you just canât take it no more. Some of yâall gone probably go fuck ya ex ex and regret it. Days go by, reality sets in and then you start to resent that person. Itâs even worse when you start thinking they out and about having a good time, living their best life when naturally they gotta be thinking the same thing about you, especially if it was real. Like I wasted my time and energy on this shit. I donât even like you but I gotta share a kid with you? It was a bigger picture, but you just running a muck like you donât even care? Man it donât even matter, plus we most likely came to this agreement together, so our feelings should be mutual even when the reality checks in. Tit for tat, You start to remember all the bad and it trumps the good.
So why TF to I even care, cause I donât
think he/she do. People gone think all kinda shit now. We was a power couple, us
never them, #Goals to some, last month it was âAll I need in this life of sinâ Now
we over, #nothing. I just wanna see them, but I donât want them. They gone miss
me, right as soon as I stop missing them.
HOW DO I GET PAST THIS? Try music therapy and the steps below……
*DO NOT TELL ANYTHING (ESPECIALLY TO FAMILY) THAT YOU COULD REGRET SAYING ABOUT THE EX. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HOPE TO MAINTAIN ANY TYPE OF RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS PERSON* You could possibly get back together and it could make you look foolish.
Separate yourself â Itâs going to be hard to go
from lovers to friends especially if emotions are involved. Take the time and
space to heal
Donât try to forget, just forgive â Good and bad
will remain regardless, work towards forgiving
Practice self-care – Care for yourself the same way you once care
for your relationship
NEVER TAKE IT PERSONAL â Know that your worth is
not defined by the status or success of your relationship.
Write it out, Talk about it â Take the time to
express how you feel. To get it off your heart, you may find that talking about
it, helps gain clarity.
Donât (TRY Not) go back, especially if it was
toxic – Maybe it didnât work for a reason. Realize that rekindling may not be
the answer to your loneliness and it most likely wonât solve the original
problem that you had.
Find the lesson in all of it â Learn from your success and failures. It will help with bettering yourself for your next relationship. Who knows maybe yall can come together and sing about it on a track. See yesterdayâs review for âSingle Againâ
I’ve found that its not much a little music therapy can’t fix. Make a or download a breakup playlist. Dance and sing along, eventually you’ll start to feel better.
Well Big Sean is and he has taken to music platforms to share how he plans to handle this one. As we all know he and ex Jheneâ Aiko has been a big deal in the entertainment industry and have taken a different approach to remain reputable with each other and within music media with partnering on Sean’s new single entitled “Single Againâ.
When the song first begins it samples Carl Thomasâs âI wishâ and he starts with the lyrics “What happens when itâs too good to throw away? You either let it go bad or go away, I need to prayâ. I love it, because naturally itâs almost never the following approach. The artist begins to explore other options like letâs be friends, and spending his time and cash on himself. With a high tempo rhythm he makes you want to listen to the lyrics and consider being single during this #hotgirlsummer, not so bad after all. When the beat drops the song makes you wanna vibe and dance to it, have a drink or 2 and embrace it not for anyone else but for self.
With great points like not placing the blame, and admitting it could be him. He explores the topic of parenting issues and how things between his parents never worked out. Which are all great therapy and discussion pieces alone. Itâs enough to make you think, could that cause great impact on your relationships with other people. The major key to all this is to have his ex on the chorus with him, could that mean they are on one accord. At such a pivotal time they couldâve taken this in many directions but they choose the mature and peaceful route which makes this song even more appealing. With a new look, and more mature sound, the 3:34 second song says it easy to just do whatâs best when being alone and thatâs to take care of you. No drugs, not more girls, or even partying can help with the healing hurt after a breakup, you gotta just take care of you. I hear a little Ty Dolla in the end too. I think the song is dope, anybody else recently Single Again? Meditate /Pray, Go get cute/fly, wash up the whip, roll all the windows down and play this as loud as you can on repeat to some kind of me time activity. Just thank Sean later ;-).
This past
Friday Wale released new music featuring Jerimiah entitled âOn Chillâ. The song
is defiantly a good vibe that follows the sample trend, sampling the Raphael
Saadiq original âAsk of Youâ. The album cover shows a woman and man holding
hands on a purple background with yellow and white writing. Hereâs that purple
color again in this case it seems as if it relates
to the imagination and spirituality the connection of
the body and soul creating a balance between our physical and our spiritual energy.
In the song he talks about dropping the complications that come along with having a title and just letting things be âOn chillâ. He still however expresses affection and emotional feelings saying all the things we still like to hear. We have all been there where it seems like you just canât catch a break. Constant arguments, canât agree or agree to disagree for that matter. Then it never fails here come some other simple mess touching the surface just because stuff already going wrong like a random call from the wrong person. Is entitlement really a huge problem with growing pains in a relationship? Who knows but I can agree seems like itâs a lot simpler when we just chilling.
With a nice R&B flow, I think Wale and Jeremih has created a nice vibe to dance, bop, or even sing too. Something relative to the current problems we face in every day situationships. I agree before things get hot and heavy letâs just chill outâŚ
